Through popular demand, I am revisiting the functions of microcurrent for treating aging skin. In my last blog "Botox and Microcurrent vs. Gravity," I compared these two modalities. This time I thought I would re-iterate the basics and benefits of microcurrent alone. How we feel about ourselves and the way we look has a huge influence on our ability to succeed in life, connect with others and experience joy and happiness. All this is reflected in the skin. Over the years I have been a facialist, I have realized that it is the inner layers of a person I am working on as much as the outer layers. Self acceptance

Electricity rocks as far as skin care is concerned and we use plenty of it at SkinSense. The latest electrical star on our menu is micro-current so I thought it might be useful to blog about its benefits and how it blends with Botox. Dr.Pugliese, skin physiologist and cosmetic chemist, maintains that micro-current creates lots of activity on

At this point I really believe from what I have seen on my clients' skins and on my own, that great skin care requires a continuous and customized plan of action. In Southern California, because of our year-round sunny climate, we don't have the option of hiding our legs and arms under extra clothing and letting our body hair grow out in the Winter months. So regular waxing treatments are imperative. It is therefore essential to find expert technicians who can deliver optimum results with a minimal amount of pain.

I can hear all of you going "Eeeeww!" But there is an important message attached to this story, and I hope you will learn from my mistakes. Two years ago, I noticed that the nail on my left big toe seemed flaky. If you've never experienced this, it's a frequent indicator of a fungal infection. Now, not only had I just read an article about laser t

At this point most of us have heard the term probiotic or have noticed the words lactobacillus and acidophilus listed on our dairy products - particularly yoghurt containers. But did you know that about two hundred trillion of these microscopic organisms- bacteria, viruses, and fungi - are swarming inside you right now and are part of a vast organism called a microbiome?

When consulting with clients on their visits to my spa, lifestyle takes up a big part of our initial conversation, particularly what they are eating on a daily basis. It is no secret at this point, that consuming a blend of fresh fruits, vegetables and clean protein, plus drinking the right amount of water does translate into a clear and vibrant skin most of the time
